Meet Shane Blair

The Executive Chef

Welcoming Shane Blair as Leilu’s Executive chef, was everything we could hope for as we celebrated our grand opening August of 2019. His calm demeanor, attention to detail and ability to execute dishes we are beyond proud to serve, are just some of the reasons he fits in so well. His creativity and ability to develop culturally diverse, interesting – yet comforting and familiar dishes is what sets him apart from the rest, and is what excites us to have him in our kitchen.

While Chef Blair isn’t originally from Long Island – he is quite familiar with island life. Blair is a native of Jamaica W.I., then spent the majority of this life in New York City. At around the age of 17, he developed a passion for cooking, and decided to pursue working towards fulfilling his culinary dream.

With dedication and love for his craft, he has nearly 20 years’ experience – of which includes over a decade working on Block Island, as a Sous Chef at the award-winning Hotel Manisses, followed by a promotion to Executive Chef at the Narragansett Inn, earning many accolades.

We are excited to share our seasonally changing menu with the guests that walk through the doors of Leilu; and while Chef does plan to keep some of the menu favorites – you will be sure to see his talents shine through with each new dish, dessert, and nightly special that is added to our menu.
